I just returned from Shrimp Fest in Gulf Shores and wore my Sand Island Lighthouse shirt Thursday afternoon. I had several people comment on my shirt and want to know where they could get one. I told them to check the lighthouse web site but I thought the shirts were all gone now but hopefully some more would be forthcoming AS WILL SOME HATS (?) I had one couple tell me they had wanted to take the Ferry over to Dauphin Island and maybe see the lighthouse up close but the Ferry was not running. I checked and someone told me the owner of the boat had taken it to Texas so people could get back and forth since the barge hit the bridge there and knocked it down.
The Shrimp Fest was good except for the weather and I missed seeing Sandra and Bob Shanklin there this year.
