The following are highlights from the Feb meeting of the ALA.
SAND ISLAND LIGHT
Discussed application status and National Parks request. Waiting on Legal description from NPS via GSA Waiting on paperwork to complete Insurance issues and status of quotes.
Application is progressing nicely. Thanks to Dauphin Islands help.
Discussed grant money and process for meeting requirements. Assigned committee to investigate process and report to board.
Warren will meet with DI representive in a couple of weeks to facilitate paperwork.
MIDDLE BAY LIGHT
Discussed zinc anodes disapearing from tie rods.
Committee will meet with contractor and formulate plan of action.
Discussed boat landing project.
Project is progressing and a time line is being formulated.
Discussed and approved 1000.00 for lantern room blasting and priming and seal coating.
Discussed old paint removal, MBL committee will get quotes on professional paint removal.
Report given on Alabama Historical Commission status on our letter to them about items regarding MBL.
BOAT SHOW
Arranged staffing for boat show.
Arranged for 30 cases of cups to be transfered. 1/2 to boat show and 1/2 to storage locker.
FORT MORGAN LIGHT
One of our members has located important information for Fort Morgan light. This information will be used to help the project.
